Country Pub Interior Design – The Queen Inn, Great Corby

Traditional character with a contemporary edge

For The Queen Inn in Great Corby, we created a complete interior scheme designed to celebrate the character of a traditional country pub while introducing a rich, considered and contemporary feel.

The scheme was centred around the gorgeous depth of Farrow & Ball’s Studio Green, balanced with warm tans, earthy tones and natural woods. From this foundation, we layered colour, pattern and texture throughout to create an inviting interior that feels full of warmth and personality.

Bespoke tables and chairs were designed specifically for the space, to maximise space and covers without making the space feel cramped. Seating was upholstered in a carefully selected combination of Romo fabrics. Bespoke blinds in complementary Romo designs carry the palette through to the windows, helping each area feel connected while retaining its own individual character.

One of the most personal elements of the project is the bespoke artwork. We captured imagery from around Great Corby village and the beautiful Corby Castle grounds, using these photographs to create a unique collection of artwork specifically for The Queen Inn. Each piece was completed with carefully selected frames by Castle Framing, bringing a sense of the local landscape and heritage into the pub itself.

The final stage was all about adding the layers that make an interior feel complete. Sculptural vases, natural stems, home fragrance and carefully curated accessories introduce softness and smaller moments of interest alongside the stronger elements of the scheme.

The finished interior combines bespoke design, local inspiration and considered styling to create a distinctive country pub that feels connected to its Great Corby setting while offering guests a warm and memorable place to eat, drink and spend time.
