Kilbirnie Hotel, Newquay – 66-Room Interior Refurbishment

Wild Rabbit Interiors recently completed a full 66-room interior refurbishment at the Kilbirnie Hotel, delivering a comprehensive design and project management service for this busy coastal hotel.

The brief focused on enhancing the guest experience while maximising space and efficiency within each room. Both Standard and Seaview rooms were designed with complementary yet distinct schemes, drawing inspiration from the surrounding sea views through layered blues, purples and soft coastal tones, alongside carefully curated artwork and lighting.

A key element of the project was the bespoke design of furniture for each room. Every piece was tailored to suit the layout and footprint, with intelligent efficiencies built into the design. Dressing tables were carefully planned to incorporate luggage storage and coffee facilities, improving functionality without compromising on aesthetics. Wardrobes, bedside tables and luggage carriers were all custom-designed to enhance flow, flexibility and usability.

Bespoke headboards in striking turquoise and deep blue tones were designed and fitted directly to the walls, providing visual impact, long-term durability and practicality for hotel use. Mirrors, artwork and light fittings were thoughtfully specified and positioned to enhance natural light, reflect the coastal palette and create a sense of space throughout the rooms.

Beyond the design, Wild Rabbit Interiors delivered full project management, coordinating site visits, physical moodboards, colour consultation to work alongside existing soft furnishings and bedding, and managing logistics with removal companies, suppliers and installers. This end-to-end approach ensured a seamless transition from concept through to completion, minimising disruption while maintaining quality control throughout.
